Developing Exergy Policy for Exergetically Green Aviation: Forget Energy Policy, Think Exergy Policy
In many organizations, even those well advanced in energy management, a formal energy policy has not yet been seen as a necessity. Considering ISO 50001: Energy Management Standard released in June 2011, which is suitable for any organization – whatever its size, sector or geographical location, this has been required. The standard explains how to establish an energy policy within any organization while the number of enterprises certified to ISO 50001 has significantly increased for the last three years.
Although the concept exergy has been studied for years, no attempt has been made to establish an Exergy Management System Standard (ExMSS), which has been recently proposed by the author for the first time in the open literature to the best of his knowledge. In this regard, forming an exegetic policy statement plays a crucial role.
This talk will briefly explain an imaginary ExMSS first. It will then focus on how to establish an exergy policy, which is also suitable for aviation sector. Finally, some recommendations towards establishing exergetically green buildings in the aviation sector are made.
